Everyone with Spotify Premium for Family Gets a Free Google Home Mini

Hooray – a freebie that’s not just for new customers.

Spotify has announced that everyone with Spotify Premium for Family – that’s the family plan where you pay £14.99 a month to add up to six people who live together – gets a free Google Home Mini. The dinky smart speaker usually sells for £49.

You get one if you sign up to Premium for Family today, and you get one if you’re already on it. In short, Oprah-style, YOU GET A GOOGLE HOME MINI!

Marc Hazan, VP Global Head Of Premium Business Development at Spotify, comments:

“We’re thrilled to be working once again with Google to bring the magic of voice to our Spotify Premium Family subscribers in the UK via the Google Home Mini, following our successful partnership in the US last year. Enjoying your favourite songs and playlists in the home has never been so easy.”

Lionel Guicherd-Callin, European product manager at Google, adds:

“Being able to access thousands of Spotify playlists via the Google Assistant has always been a seamless experience, so giving families the power to do it from anywhere in the house with the Google Home Mini is a natural next step. With a simple, ‘Hey Google,’ the whole family can enjoy their favourite music, while also using it for other helpful assistance designed especially for families.”

You can only claim one free Google Home Mini per Family account, and it has to be the main account holder that claims it. So your freeloading little bro can’t claim it on your behalf from his inferior sub-account. Ha ha.

The offer will run until the 14th of May (ages!) and you’ve got until the 24th of May to claim your speaker when they email you to say it’s ready.
